Temporary Fuel Surcharge

At Poolfessionals, our regular service rates are built to cover normal operating costs, including ordinary day to day fuel usage. However, when fuel prices rise beyond normal levels, that creates an additional operating cost that could not reasonably have been anticipated or permanently built into base pricing.
This surcharge is not intended to be a permanent rate increase. It is a separate temporary charge designed only to help offset unusual fuel cost increases above the normal range already built into our regular service rates.

When will the surcharge take effect?

The fuel surcharge will take effect beginning in April 2026. The first invoice on which this charge will appear will be your April service invoice, which is scheduled to be posted at the beginning of May 2026.

How the surcharge is determined

Our fuel surcharge is based on the published average price of regular gasoline in Orange County through AAA’s California fuel price reporting.

When the surcharge is reviewed

Fuel prices will be reviewed periodically using the Orange County average regular fuel price published by AAA. Based on those averages, the surcharge may be added, adjusted, reduced, or removed.

Why this approach is being used

We believe this is the fairest way to handle abnormal fuel price volatility. Our goal is not to permanently raise pricing under the label of a surcharge. Instead, this policy creates a transparent and predictable way to respond only when fuel prices move beyond the normal range.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a permanent price increase?

No. This is a separate temporary surcharge and may be reduced or removed if fuel prices come down.

Is this included in my normal service rate?

No. Normal fuel expense is already built into our regular pricing. This surcharge only applies when fuel costs rise beyond that normal range.

How do you decide what fuel price to use?

We use the published Orange County average price for regular gasoline from AAA.

Will the surcharge go away if fuel prices drop?

Yes. If fuel prices come down enough to move into a lower tier or below the threshold, the surcharge will be reduced or removed.
